Well, that took longer than expected! A lot has happened in the 5 months since I last updated:
+ I had an incredible time exploring Raja Ampat and Tana Toraja in Indonesia
+ I travelled to Myanmar and Sri Lanka
+ I finished my contract in Bali and returned to Australia
+ I made a few big grown up decisions about my future (eek!)
+ I KomMari-ed my life...kind of!
I'm hoping to get back onto a regular blogging schedule now I'm slowly starting to settle back into the real world. In the meantime, here are some links to great things on the internet:
+ "How and why, when it comes to cash, is the collected total always, always, always twenty dollars short? Even when everyone has counted their contributions so carefully? Does the gravitational force of a party of ten create some kind of whirlpool miasma in the center of the table where the money is being collected, like the Bermuda triangle? Like a wormhole? Where do these mysterious missing bills disappear to? It’s uncanny." Group dinners suck.
+ Call Your Girlfriend is the greatest thing my ears have heard in a long time.
+ This is an interesting counter to the usual dream-job-chasing posts. I quit my dream job and I feel fine.
+ Do schools kill creativity? Mine sure did. I wonder what my life would have looked like if that awful grade 8 art teacher hadn't crushed my creative confidence. 18 years later and it's finally coming back...slowly! Imagine having a teacher like Ken Robinson! I'm not a massive fan of TED in its current incarnation, but this is fantastic and well worth a watch.
+ This is SO GOOD. I challenge you to get this song out of your head in the next 24 hours, too.
+ My friends are working really hard to make a difference in remote villages in Bali. Have some spare change? Support Toilets Today for a Healthy Tomorrow!
+ As if I wasn't already missing Indonesia - this guide to things you'll see/experience on Indonesian roads is spot on!
+ Take some time out to watch this great film 'Old/New' - it might make you reconsider what trends you follow and how much of yourself you devote to them!
+ If you haven't already got your hands on a copy, check out Glamtrotting, a great online magazine devoted to travel and beauty that I write for.
+ And finally, this post on Undone Journal sums everything up: "I know that tomorrow may never come, that now is all we have, that the moon brings comfort, and that the salt air cures all. If only we could feel more love, have more stubbed toes and even more bruised knees, if we could just be in the here, the now, exactly where we are, and no place else, then we will all see, and all feel the magic that lives right beneath our toes."
