A while ago, I jetted off to Singapore for a few days of Bali-escape, shopping and real cider (oh, how I missed cider!). I had already spent quite a lot of time in Singapore in the past, so sightseeing was firmly off my agenda and I was looking forward to exploring the multiple malls and independent boutiques on offer.
Shop Wonderland - The Pantry
First stop was Haji Lane (as well as nearby Arab 'Material Heaven' Street and Bali Lane, which houses some cute boutiques and cafes that have spilled over from the main event).
This pedestrianised street is a treasure-trove of independent boutiques, cafes and vintage shops. A hub for local designers and artists, the street is worlds away from Singapore's high-street and designer fashion malls. I decided to start at one end and make my way to the other end, weaving in and out of shops and cafes on the way.
CAD Cafe - the ham & brie sandwich was delicious!
It's hard to narrow down the great boutiques and cafes in this area to a short list, but a few recommendations are:
Threadbare & Squirrel, 660 North Bridge Road (Bali Lane) CAD Cafe, 23 Haji Lane A Thousand Tales x Cafe Fables x Bar Stories, 55 - 57 Haji Lane Shop Wonderland, 53 Haji Lane
I only wish I'd arrived earlier in the day - Haji Lane is top of my list for a return visit!
